MOOCs at Kennesaw State are faculty driven initiatives designed to increase access to education and highlight KSU's centers of excellence. The goal is to offer educational pathways that invite the regional, national, and international community to join in a learning experience. The Open Courses at KSU have the potential to lower program costs and increase access to education while shortening degree completion time. In accordance with Complete College Georgia, MOOCs will also target adult learners and those from rural areas seeking to expand their educational opportunities. Open courses will offer levels of participation ranging from general community interest to professional learning or certification. Several courses will offer options for qualified students to convert their MOOC activities to transfer credit.
KSU recently added two new courses to its growing list: Business Model Canvas: A Tool for Entrepreneurs and Innovators and Writing Professional Email and Memos. These are Project Centered Courses and offer the opportunity to learn by completing a single continuous project.
KSU has also added a new Specialization, Cybersecurity: Developing a Program for Your Business Specialization. A Coursera Specialization consists of three courses and a capstone taught in sequence, or taken independently. In this Specialization, you will learn about a variety of processes for protecting business assets through policy, education and training, and technology best practices.
